John Novotny, Director of Environmental Control & Capital Project Management; Corning Inc.

John F. Novotny joined Corning as director of, Global Environment & Sustainability, Capital Project Management and Global Energy Management, MT&E, in June 2016. Novotny is responsible for the oversight, strategic development, and management of Corning's global environmental programs and activities. He also oversees capital project management and facilities engineering as well as the global energy management group.

 

Prior to assuming his current position, Novotny was an executive-level environmental engineer for Arcadis, an engineering firm headquartered in the Netherlands, where he led environmental engineering, compliance, and health and safety for global clients. Previously, Novotny served as the global environmental, health, and safety manager for GE Transportation, a division of General Electric Company.

 

Novotny earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a licensed professional engineer in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and a board-certified environmental engineer through the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He serves on the Department Advisory Board for the State University of New York at Buffalo – School of Engineering; the Board of Directors for 171 Cedar Arts Center (Corning, NY) and the Board of Regents for NAEM.
